BLANCHARD GRINDING AND MATTISON GRINDING
At Precision Grinding, we grind steel plates large and small from our Birmingham, Alabama steel service center and job shop. Our largest Blanchard Grinder can swing 129'' corner to corner, and our 415 HP 400 S Mattison Vertical Spindle Surface Grinder pictured below can cover plates 48'' wide by over 200'' long. Our operators are experienced in rotary grinding and surface grinding most any type of magnetic steel parts, including parallels, base plates, die plates, mold plates, mounting plates, quick die change plates, fabrications and weldments.
We routinely provide Machine Blade Sharpening or "Shear Blade Sharpening" to ±0.001" manufactured specified tolerances.
We also "Decarb Tool Steel", normally to + 0.015 to 0.030" over thickness. As an example, we routinely decarb 4140 sheets.
