Fabricating Department: Policies and Procedures
1. Check Job Traveler to verify all previous steps have been signed-off
correctly. Log on the Job Traveler to the appropriate fabrication step before beginning work.
2. Measure and check parts against the Job Traveler and fabrication drawing for accuracy.
3. Saw structural material as required by the drawing or Job Traveler.
4. Take special care with material that is delivered pre-machined or ground.
5. Fit and tack weld parts in place per drawing.
6. Inspect fitted parts before final welding. After an approved inspection, complete final welding according to weld specifications
on the drawing.
7. Take special care of the physical appearance of the fabrication. Remove all weld splatter and dress all welds with a hand grinder as required.
8. All welders in the Fabrication Department must be tested and certified per AWS D1.1.
9. Individual and Company Nuclear Certifications must be completed according to customer request.
