WEAR PLATE

Wear Plates or Abrasion Resistant Steel Plates

Wear plates or liner plates are used in applications where friction between two parts or materials creates degradation.  Wear plates bolt onto a machine that slides in and out or up and down in a manufacturing process.  These manufactured AR plates are also placed in coal or rock shoots as well as in many other applications.

Wear plates can be made of mild steel, abrasion resistant grades ranging from A514 T1 to AR500, flame hardened grades such as 1045 or 4140 or thru hardened materials such as 4140, A2, D2, S7 and others. Abrasion resistant wear plates are designed to unbolt from your equipment, allowing you to re-grind and re-shim to the original height of your equipment or to replace with another liner.

In some cases, Precision Grinding can modify your equipment to incorporate these liner plates when not in the original equipment design.  If your equipment has lost some efficiency or does not hold the same tolerances as new, inspect the worn parts.  There could be an easy and cost effective fix to the problem.  A company's existence depends upon productivity and the quality of its products.  Protect the investment you have made in your equipment.

These Abrasion Resistant Steel Plates are made from 1045 Plate.  Prior to this final grinding phase, we burned, annealed, pre-ground, machined and flame-hardened the parts.  After flame-hardening, we finished these parts on one of our Mattison Surface Grinders to obtain the required flatness and parallelism tolerances.  These parts are 1.50 x 9.00 x 84.00.
